WH-CH720N

The Sony WH-CH720N is a solid choice for people who want to listen to music all day with headphones on. In our testing, it weighed just 186 g. Among the over-ear models we compared, this was one of the lightest, making it less tiring to wear for long periods. The ear pads are 1.9 cm deep, which helps reduce pressure on the ears, and the headband has a wide adjustment range of up to 61 cm, so it can comfortably fit different head sizes.Ease of use is another strong point. All basic controls are handled via physical buttons on the headphones, and you can switch between noise canceling and ambient sound mode with a single press. It supports multipoint connections, allowing you to connect to two devices simultaneously. Battery life is also impressive, with up to 50 hours of continuous playback, so frequent charging isn’t necessary. There’s also a quick-charge feature that delivers about 1 hour of use from just 3 minutes of charging. The sound quality delivers strong, clear low- to mid-range tones. While some competing models we tested made mid-range sounds harder to hear, this one maintained good presence from bass to treble. It may lack a strong sense of live, immersive sound, but overall clarity is more than adequate. You also get an equalizer and personalization features for sound customization.Noise canceling is not as powerful as top-tier models, but it effectively reduces everyday noises such as voices and bells. Claims that it “doesn’t work well” can largely be ignored. The microphone performs well, clearly picking up both male and female voices. However, background noise reduction is limited, so it’s not ideal for calls in noisy environments.Priced at around ₱5,499 to ₱7,999, it offers good value for its lightweight comfort and long battery life. It’s well-suited for all-day use at home. That said, if you prioritize high-end sound quality or frequently use the microphone while out and about, it’s worth checking other options as well.Recommended For:People who spend long hours listening to musicNot Recommended For:People who prioritize premium sound qualityPeople who often use the microphone while outdoors

The JBL GO4 is a compact Bluetooth speaker that’s great for people who want portability and clear mids. Despite its small size, it delivers solid audio performance and comes with IP67 dustproof and waterproof protection, making it a practical option for outdoor use.At just 198g, it was lighter than any other speaker we compared it to. The built-in strap also makes it easy to attach to a bag or carry around, which is convenient for travel or casual outings. In our sound tests, the speaker reproduced midrange frequencies clearly, allowing vocals to come through with good detail and expression. It also has enough depth and punch for its size, making it enjoyable for listening to music, podcasts, or videos.Because of its compact design, the sound doesn’t spread widely enough to fill a large room or power a big gathering. However, it performs well for personal listening, small hangouts, or outdoor activities.Battery life is rated at up to 9 hours. While this may not last through very long outdoor trips without charging, it should be sufficient for everyday use, such as listening at home, during short outings, or while traveling.Although larger speakers can deliver stronger sound, the JBL GO4 balances portability, durability, and sound quality well for its size. If you want a small Bluetooth speaker that you can easily bring anywhere, it’s a solid choice.

IE 100 PRO

Pros:Clear, well-balanced sound across lows, mids, and highsStrong midrange performance with detailed vocals and instrumentsSmooth, non-harsh treble despite some user concernsComfortable, ergonomic fit that sits naturally in the earMultiple ear tip options for a better, customizable fitSupports cable replacement for longer usabilityIncludes useful extras like a cleaning tool and soft pouchPotential Cons:No built-in microphone for callsNo active noise cancellationUses a less common Pentaconn Ear connector (limits cable options)Not the most affordable option in its categoryThe Sennheiser IE 100 PRO is a great choice for anyone looking for high-quality wired earphones that deliver detailed, well-defined sound. While some competing models we tested sounded slightly muddy, this one stood out with excellent clarity across all frequencies. The mids, in particular, are impressive, bringing out vocals and instrument details with richness and precision. Despite some online feedback about sharp highs, we found the treble to be smooth and well-extended, creating an immersive listening experience.Comfort is another strong point. Instead of a simple round housing, the earphones are shaped to fit more naturally along the ear. They also come with multiple ear tip options, including silicone tips in small, medium, and large sizes, plus a medium foam pair, for a total of four sets. Compared to many models that only include one type, this makes it much easier to find a secure and comfortable fit. They can also be worn over the ear for added stability. In terms of usability, performance is solid. The earphones use a standard 3.5mm plug and support cable replacement, which many competing models do not. This makes them easier to maintain and use long-term. That said, the connector uses a Pentaconn Ear design, which is less common, so compatibility can be limited. Also, keep in mind that these do not include active noise cancellation or a built-in microphone. With a price typically in the ₱5,000 to ₱7,000 range in the Philippines (based on listings from authorized sellers on Shopee and Lazada as of writing), they’re not exactly budget-friendly. Still, the sound quality justifies the cost. Extras like a cleaning tool and soft pouch add value, but if you need a mic for calls or want more flexibility with cable upgrades, it’s worth considering other options as well.

FLIP 7 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

The JBL Flip 7 is a Bluetooth speaker that’s ideal for people who want to enjoy powerful bass in a wide range of situations, whether indoors or outdoors at places like camping trips or beach outings. It also supports JBL’s AI Sound Boost, which helps reduce distortion at high volumes while maximizing bass output and overall loudness. In our tests, the bass delivered impressive depth for its size, producing a thick, woofer-like sound. The midrange was also clear and full, allowing vocals and instruments to stand out without being drowned out by the bass or treble. The speaker produced a spacious sound as well, with a sense of depth and dimensionality. Another advantage is the dedicated companion app, which allows users to adjust the sound profile to match their personal listening preferences. The speaker is built for outdoor use, featuring IP68 dust and water resistance. This level of protection makes it suitable for environments like camping trips or the beach. Even if the speaker is accidentally dropped in water, it can withstand immersion at depths beyond one meter for up to 30 minutes. The included strap and carabiner also make it easy to attach the speaker to bags or hang it in different places.
