Procedure:
- Pull out and cut off the reel of floss about 18 inches (45cm).
- Wrap the ends around your two index fingers, and stretch it between them, so it is fairly taught, leaving about 6 inches between the two fingers.
- Gently position the floss in between teeth, flex the floss slightly so that it cups around the edge of one tooth in a C-like shape.
- Move the floss up and down to get rid of plaque.
- Repeat this for the tooth on the other side of that same gap.
- Repeat this process for all teeth and gaps in the mouth.
- Dispose of the floss.
To slide the floss in between the teeth, use a gentle back-and-forth motion. Never force the floss down or snap it because this may cause cuts or bruises on gum tissue.
